The Customer

TIM is an italian brand owned by Telecom Italia. Originally founded as a mobile telephony company in 1995, since 2015 it has become a brand that provides mobile and fixed telephony as well as Internet services.

The Project

With the system integrator NTTData Italia we are entirely re-designing, on Oracle WebCenter Sites 11g, the main customer portal In this huge project we are developing the front-end using WCS and integrating it with ATG e-commerce and others systems in a very complex architecture. With over than 4000 pages and million of users, cache configuration and flexible data model, are primary goals. Also, we are supporting customer in the content migration with automatic tools and with a team of specialised WCS contributors.

TIM Learning

As a vertical intranet website of TIM, TIM Learning is an intranet where salesforce and TIM retail owners can download communication and e-learning materials of all new products, best practices and info about TIM.

Entirely created on Oracle WebCenter Sites, users can registers to the portal and navigate across content pages. Registration and login are developed on WCS. The intranet users can open discuss and comment using Oracle Community Server. The open page, designed using “Window tiles style”, is fully managed with drag&drop functionality by Contributors, permitting them to select number and size of each tile. Contents on the pages are personalised depending on user segments using WCS recommendations.


"Impresa Semplice" is the self-provisioning area of "Tim" Telecom Italia web portal.  "Impresa Semplice" is the self-provisioning area of the "Tim" main portal.

The integration between WCS and and the self-provisioning services such as User Details, Credit, Phone Lines etc. has been achieved to an external library called BL (business layer)

that greatly facilitated the integration of a huge amount of external services.

The BL is a Java library that internally to WCS is called like a local API, but remotely it interfaces to the Self Provisioning services through REST APIs.
